Continued Diary Entries: Lockdown Week 6 (28th April – 3rd May 2020)

Tuesday 28th April – LOCKDOWN DAY 36: I cleaned the whole house today, which feels like a massive weight off my shoulders. It’s been hard for me to focus with all

Wednesday 29th April – LOCKDOWN DAY 37: Today we went to the supermarket again today. We went early so that it wasn’t too busy. It’s strange how such a simple thing has suddenly become almost like a day out. Anything to break up the days is a good thing lately.

Thursday 30th April – LOCKDOWN DAY 38: Today is Vappu, a Finnish holiday. My housemate is Finnish, so we’ve been celebrating all day with drinks and food. It’s nice to have something to celebrate to break up the monotony of lockdown! And of course, we clapped for the NHS again today. Which is always a good part of the week.

Friday 1st May – LOCKDOWN DAY 39: We continued to celebrate Vappu today and ordered a Chinese takeaway. Although it’s difficult to stay inside all the time, it’s been nice to find a new appreciation for the simple things in life. I hope that we continue to remember that when all this is over.

Saturday 2nd May – LOCKDOWN DAY 40: I had another video call with my family today. It’s strange talking to them so much actually, because I’m so used to being away at uni anyway. But it always lifts my mood a lot.

Sunday 3rd May – LOCKDOWN DAY 41: Today I did some baking and continued with work. I’ve been bakings lots since lockdown, and learning to knit and how to tattoo. It’s been nice to have so much time to focus on some new hobbies and learn some new skills. I’m looking forward to coursework being over so that I can at least make the most out of this lockdown and take some more time to myself.
