I had hoped to be able to return home for a while, and visit my Grandparent’s house to continue with this project. I thought that photographing these spaces which have a lot of personal meaning and memories for me, would bring another element of meaning to the work. However, due to the current situation with Covid-19, it looks unlikely that I will be able to return home now. I’m struggling to find motivation for this project this week, as plans have changed and my resources have become limited. I also hoped that going home would give me more things to photograph, as student houses are not particularly aesthetic or interesting. I always wanted to avoid this project turning into the typical documentation of a student house. I decided that I would just try to find some more visual inspiration this week, and simply photograph things as and when they catch my eye and I feel like a picture. Therefore, the main aim of this week’s shoot is just to boost my confidence in the project a little more and try to keep hold of some motivation.
