It’s important to me that I continue to develop my ideas each week. It’s easy to shoot everyday things, as we are surrounded by them all the time, but I want each shoot to have a purpose behind it. After stopping to consider how my project is going and thinking again about what I really want to express through my work, I thought it would be a good idea to really focus on how I can make my images meaningful. Overall, I want to capture the everyday. I decided to think again this week about the techniques that Shafran, Eggleston and Shore use to do this. One of the most effective ways I found through researching these artists, was their perspective. Often Shore and Eggleston would take photos of objects as they would usually be seen by people. For example, looking down on a table or up at lamppost. Their photos are not always framed like most photographers, but instead framed as though from the perspective of the human eye. This is what I’ve tried to achieve in this shoot. I haven’t bent down or shifted my perspective, I’ve simply shot as I see.
